Leadership
We encourage children to take on different leadership roles according to their age and ability. At which stage of the journey are you?
School Council
School Council feel it is very important that all our pupils have a chance to be heard.
We have a responsibility to represent our classes.
We hope to make our school the best it can be.
We try to resolve problems, help our friends and to create a happy learning environment.
We feel it is vital to work as a team, help each other, remind each other when there is a meeting and what we need to ask our classes.
Eco-Council
At Woodlands, we pride ourselves on our awareness that everybody has a responsibility to care for the environment.
Our Eco-Council are really passionate about finding ways to keep improving how we help keep our planet healthy. Our main goal is to help the environment in both our school and local community by spreading awareness of environmental issues and doing our best to lead change.
Our Eco-Council recently gained the Plastic Free Schools status and the Green Flag Award.
We are looking forward to working towards achieving the Eco-Schools Green Flag Award again this year. So far Eco-Council have carried out an environmental review to identify the positive things we already do at school and the eco actions we want to address – watch this space!
Reading Ambassadors
At Woodlands, we appreciate the importance of reading for pleasure. We have appointed Reading Ambassadors from across the school who meet each half term to share great books. Our Reading Ambassadors also make recommendations for each phase and these are displayed in the library.
